Quinoa is one of the ancient grains. It is popular as one of the healthy foods. It comes in three colours; red, black and the most common one is white Quinoa.

Quinoa is very high in protein and fiber and is gluten-free, so it is one of the best options for people who are allergic to gluten.

It is one of the few plant foods that contain all nine essential amino acids.

It is also high in, magnesium, iron, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, B vitamins and vitamin E.

How to Use Quinoa

Quinoa is easily cooked. It is recommended to cook it same way as rice. Add 2 cups of water to 1 cup of Quinoa. Bring the water to boil, add Quinoa, turn the heat down, cover for 15 minutes and serve.

After being cooked you can either eat it same as rice, or you can also leave it to cool and add Quinoa to different types of salads.
