Oriental desserts are favoured in Ramadan, and one of these delicious desserts is “Kol Wa Shkor”, which are made from baklava dough.
Ingredients:
1/4 kilo Phyllo (filo) dough
4 tbsp ghee
Filling:
1 cup crushed nuts
1 cup of grated coconut
1 tbsp rose water
Syrup
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp rose water
Method
1 – Syrup: Add sugar to water and put on a low heat, stir until sugar dissolves, add lemon juice while boiling. Remove from heat and add rose water and leave it to cool.
2 – Filling: Mix sugar with nuts and coconut and add a tablespoon of rose water.
3 – Spread 4 sheets of filo dough, add the nuts and roll in a cylindrical shape. Cut into pieces of 3 cm length.
4 – Grease a baking tray with ghee and place the pieces evenly, leaving small spaces between them.
5 – Sprinkle hot ghee and bake in low heat oven until golden.
6 – Pour the cold syrup on the hot backed filo dough, garnish with nuts and serve.
