Fat and Cholesterol Are They All Bad?

For tens of years, people were advised by doctors to avoid

saturated fat and cholesterol, though, there is no evidence that they are harmful. Since the 60s and 70s, many scientists believed that saturated fat was the main cause of heart disease, by raising the “bad” cholesterol in the blood.

Here are some incorrect conceptions about Fats and Cholesterol

Low Fat Diets are Beneficent

There is no evidence that low-fat diets have any benefits. They do not cause weight loss in the long-term or reduce the risk of chronic diseases. They may even cause harm as Low-fat foods have added sugar and artificial chemicals to make them tasty and to balance the missing fat.

LDL Cholesterol Levels Indicate Heart Attack Risks

Recent studies show that total and LDL cholesterol levels are actually not good markers of heart disease risk. Many people are given unnecessarily medications because doctors depend on these numbers.

Eggs and Cholesterol Rich Foods Are Bad

Eggs were considered as unhealthy or even harmful for many people, but new studies show that they do not raise cholesterol in

the blood or contribute to heart disease on the contrary eggs are among the most nutritious foods in the world.

Vegetable Oils Are Healthy

Vegetable oils are not as healthy as people think. They are loaded with Omega-6 fatty acids and trans fats that are unhealthy and can contribute to disease.

High-Fat Diets Are Dangerous

It is true that fat has more calories than carbohydrates or protein, but studies show that high-fat and low-carb diets are much more healthy and help in weight loss than low-fat diets.
