Käsekuchen is one of the oldest and most famous desserts in Germany that is served in almost all occasions.
Ingredients:
Bottom layer (the dough):
300 g flour
200 g sugar
150 g ground almonds
150 g butter
2 eggs
Top layer (the filling):
500 g Labneh “Quark”
4 eggs
Canned apricots
200 g butter
200 g sugar
lemon
2 tablespoons of corn flour
How to prepare:
Bottom layer:
Mix and kneaded all ingredients, and place in the fridge for an hour.
Top layer
– Use electric mixer to mix butter with sugar, add the egg yolk bit by bit, and continue mixing.
– Mix milk with lemon juice, vanilla and corn flour, and add to the previous mixture.
– Beat the egg whites thoroughly for 2 minutes and add to the mixture.
– Put parchment paper in a baking tray and spread three quarters of the dough evenly, and place the rest on inner wall of the tray. Add the mixture over the dough and distribute apricot pieces on the surface, and bake for an hour.
