Reflexology or “zone therapy” is an alternative medicine rooted back to ancient Egypt and China and involves applying pressure to the hands and feet by the finger with specific technique. Unlike other types of massage reflexology depends on zones and reflex areas and does not need oil or lotion.
ENT doctor William H. Fitzgerald, set up the concept of “zone therapy” in 1915, and American physiotherapist Eunice Ingham developed the modern reflexology in the 1930’s.
